Brain and Spine Cancer

Radiosurgery in the form of GammaKnife® has now been available for many years and a great many patients have been treated successfully around the world with this system. Unfortunately however the GammaKnife requires a fixed, intrusive frame to be screwed into a patient's skull in order to immobilise the tumour and it cannot be applied outside the head.
In recent years a much more flexible form of radiosurgery has been developed, which does not require a frame to immobilise the tumour and which can be applied much more widely.
Treatments now extend to the brain, eye, spine, lung, liver, prostate and pancreas with new treatment protocols being developed as the technology is more widely adopted.
Over 100,000 patients worldwide have been treated with this system and it is now being adopted rapidly due to rising demand, as it becomes better known.
