The Department of Obstetrics and Prenatal Medicine is led by Prof. Kurt Hecher and is one of only a few centres in Europe to offer laser therapy for Twin to Twin Transfusions Syndrome (TTTS).
UKE is a teaching hospital and is the largest hospital in Northern Germany. It is a leading centre for liver and kidney transplants and has expertise in a wide range of treatments and rare diseases. These include Heart, Oncology including HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) procedure, Obesity, Pancreas and the Voice, Speech and Hearing Clinic.
