When diagnosed with a serious illness, patients or family now research it on the internet. Whatever the diagnosis, a mine of information can always be found. Some is correct and useful, some is out of date and much is based on personal stories and opinions.
A1Med does not examine, diagnose or advise individual patients. We provide practical information on treatments which are available at specialised treatment centres in your own country or abroad and we welcome enquiries from doctors or patients.
We do not attempt to give an overview of all treatments available for a particular condition, nor will the treatments featured be suitable for all patients. We hope however that patients and doctors around the world will find this a valuable resource and a means to make effective enquiries.
New treatments are often reported in the media whilst still under development or trial. Many of these will not be suitable for you or not yet available, so you must give a clear and concise report of what you have heard if you wish your doctor to consider it for you.
This is where A1Med can help. New treatments may already be established in other countries before they are available or familiar in your own. We provide practical guidance and information for you to download, read and discuss with your doctor. We also help you to make your own enquiries to top international treatment centres.
